Urban climate
The climate of a particular city is controlled by many natural factors e.g. latitude, topography, land cover and water bodies. As a city grows and develops, new factors (e.g. anthropogenic heat, air pollution) modify the local climate of a city and contribute to the formation of distinct urban climates.

Large number of habitants and anthropogenic heat emission as well as the fact that the area of a city is built mainly of concrete, asphalt, bricks and stones make the temperature in a city higher than in a non-urban area. High density of buildings modifies wind speed and its direction; local air circulation called urban breeze is formed.
