Unit 2: Particles

Aerosol particles can have several sources (natural or anthropogenic), being primary or secondary aerosols and therefore have different chemical composition. By the mean of their physical and chemical properties, they also play a key role in the formation and behaviour of clouds and on the climate system, and they have also an impact on the human health.

All these properties will be developped here, although the way aerosols and clouds affect the climate will be detailed in Chapter 3.
