Folklore Weather Forecasting

Before the modern, scientifically based weather forecasting, people whose lives and livelihoods depended on the weather (like shepherds, fishermen) relied on weatherlore to foretell tomorrow’s weather. It was essential for them to show a keen sence of observation and quickly connect changes in nature with rhythms or patterns of weather. The beliefs of thousands of people were passed down from genetarion to generation, became part of culture and education, this is why many legends remained about how to predict the weather. Lots of weather proverbs are nothing more than familiar rhymes, but a few of these legends actually have some basis in scientific fact.
