Version 3:

Energy conference with role reversal - mixed team work

energy summit

separation into groups

Material:

Black and white copies of the document "Characters large"
Sheet 'Engineers' for all groups + one card of each character group for each of the 10 student sub-groups (1  ambassador, 1 minister, ...). This means for each group a double set of character cards.

( In total: 5 copies of the sheet engineers, two copies of all character sheets, scissors for cutting out the cards, writing paper for concepts )

Preparation:

See version 2. The only difference is, that for each group two sub-groups A and B are formed and each get a full set of material. They also have each a secretary taking notes for the energy concept.

This is what you need for your class:

material version 3

Team work and role reversal:

In 15 mins team work an energy concept is developed as in version 2. But afterwards the concept is not presented to the class, but the group splits into the sub-groups A and B. Each sub-group A and its concept assembles with the sub-group B of another group.

teamwork

Phase 1: Team work like in version 2

exchange of sub-groups

Phase 2: Exchange of sub-groups and comparison of different concepts.

The students compare their concepts, discuss similar and different parts and the characters standing behind it. In 15 minutes team work they try to find a compromise of both energy concepts.
